I think we cannot let Obama and Holder let this slide. A terrible precedent is being left unchecked.

We can't just move forward while we drag past crimes into the future. We need to show the world we fight crime wherever espesially when it is committed by the leaders we entrust our democracy to. The Bush era was full of criminals. Obama cannot just ignor these crimes without being guilty of the same. Pass HR 104 commission on War Powers. Thank You John Boomer

As much as President Obama has refused ti look back in holding those responsible for violating our Constitution and shaming our country, I hope he will give it further serious thought and reconsider that in this exceptional case with multiple violations justice should and must prevale.

Please pass SINGLE PAYER HEALTHCARE REFORM (HR 676) to help the American people and not the insurance companies!

Pass a healthcare bill with a public option. Providing universal healthcare is the only way to reform the healthcare system.

Stop the damned war that we cannot afford and that we don't want.

AMERICA IS BEING HIGHJACKED by corruption in our government. We the people want our country back. Re-read the constitution. Read the inserts in the vaccines you plan to force on the general public by martial law and unlawful gun control. Giving untested vaccines to pregnant women? This is a crime to humanity. It says right in the insert that they are dangerous to the fetus and reproduction abilities. What will it do to our children's future. Forcing us at check points or in our schools to take a shot in the arm of a Frankenstein cocktail is a war crime too. WAKE UP! You're selling us out!

Special counsel John Durham (R) has been prodded to ignore the crime of ORDERING torture. He is to investigate only whether instructions were "exceeded." This is insufficient.

The Bush-Cheney administration, abetted by their bogus Dept. of Justice, abused war powers to falsely justify torture in an illegal "war." If this practice continues, the DoJ itself should be investigated -- Pres. Obama too, if he follows in Bush's blood-soaked footprints.

Cheney continues to lie on TV about the CIA report (detailed instructions on HOW to torture) "'absolving" him and Bush of ORDERING torture. It's scientifically known that torture gets only false confessions -- victims will say anything to stop the hideous pain. Moreover, torture incites worldwide hatred against the US, further enriching the bloated war-agenda military-industrial complex that Eisenhower warned us about.

We'll have no more of this stupidity of blaming only low-level people while high-level criminals like Bush and Cheney escape. Congress must reassert itself as a co-equal branch of government and assertively investigate abuse of war powers. A decent first step is HR 104, with a corresponding Senate bill, to establish a national commission on presidential war powers and civil liberties.

Yes, the low-level "just following orders" torturers are war criminals -- but how much more so those who ORDERED the torture? Bush and Cheney must be prosecuted for war crimes and treason. Meanwhile, HR 104 can help restore civil liberties and curb any abuse by current and future administrations.

We need to bring an end to torture, and bring the torturers, and especially those who ordered the torture, to justice

A cover up of who, over many years, ordered U.S. torturing of detainees - by solely concentrating only on the on-the-ground perpetrators - rivals doing nothing at all about this disgraceful, destructive, and unAmerican practice. And, of course, makes our Congress into the weakling, pitiful creature it threatens to become. This is really sort of a battle for the soul of this country and I hope you don't turn your backs.

This is an absolute nightmare! I never dreamed Pres. Obama would continue the illegal abuses of our Constitution that the Bush and Cheney administration instituted.
PLEASE, Senators Kay Hagan and Richard Burr and Rep. Brad Miller, pass legislation to make Pres. Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder take the necessary steps to uphold and obey our Constitution. While you're at it, Please uphold and obey our Constitution yourselves.
I couldn't believe what Bush (I have trouble even addressing him as President) and Cheney did in taking so much illegal power into their own hands. I was afraid we were going to end up with a Fascist country. They set terrible precedents. Please make Pres. Obama know that he can't continue in their footsteps.
Pass laws that will prohibit all such encroachments, in the future. on the liberties guaranteed by our Constitution.
Sincerely, Jackie Benton

If wrongs were committed by the Bush administration, they need to be investigated. Ignoring this situation, hoping it will go away will only strengthen the distrust the American public has for politicians. If the persons involved are innocent, then that will be the lasting impression. But if no action is taken to prove or disprove, then the stigma of guilt will last forever.

In suffering from the last decade of corporate government profiteering from public divisivenss and hysteria, let us rally around the US Constitution. We must cling to reason and the sound judgement of our foreparents. Re-establish Separation Of Powers and Checks and Balances as guaranteed under the supreme laws of our land.

Torture is immoral and a war crime of the highest offense since it is a Human Rights violation. Remember when Americans used to care about their neighbors? Now we are asked to spy on them. The acceptance of torture has a dehumanizing effect, and is crime which should never be overlooked, especially if our national leaders are complicit. Investigate and Prosecute all war criminals from the Bush administration. There may well be criminals teaching at our nations best higher learning institutions - that is a crime against future generations.

It is absolutely necessary that Congress take action to rein in the war powers that have been accruing to the executive branch over the last 40 or so years, since the Vietnam hostilities (undeclared war). Also, our civil liberties must be returned/repaired so as to jibe with our Bill of Rights in the U.S. Constitution. If HR 104 doesn't achieve this, then please write legislation that does, do not renew the ill-begotten PATRIOT ACT.

I am writing to urge you to help Congress reassert it's war powers and investigate the actions of the previous administration w/ respect to violations of the Geneva Convention. Please support HR 104. This would at least be a step in the right direction. We must never allow any President to do what the Bush Administration did in Iraq. Preemptive War is illegal and immoral.

Pass HR 104, Commission on War Powers

The editor of the newspaper to which this is sent can find a true journalist who will investigate this and write a paper that is not bias. But follows the law - like we all are expected to do!

Please take back your authority to police the actions of the executive branch. This includes executing the will of the people overwhelmingly against actions in Iraq, and Afganistan. And, we must hold any and all accountable for crimes committed at any time. Torture is illegal, immoral and repugnant. It does not work and only serves to extract tainted information as directed by the interegators.
