Now this outrageous fouling of our beautiful coastlines and murder of innocent wildlife in the Gulf of Mexico. I thought I was a Democrat, but you don't represent me. No more will I vote Democrat unless a particular individual has proven by ACTION that they can and will "promote the general welfare," as you are sworn to do. ********** [113046:022610] b.n., Cambridge, MA Please summon the strength to stand up for the American people and do the right thing, regardless of what the republicans have convinced you we want. We're behind you as long as you're behind us. Please don't desert us. ********** [084028:022110] K.C., Phoenix, AZ STOP serving the corporate criminals over the American people! ********** [103759:020810] E.E., Winston Salem, NC Making a back room deal with the thieves who have been stealing from the people is a despicable act. WE MUST HAVE AN HONEST-TO-GOODNESS PUBLIC OPTION OR YOU ARE A BUNCH OF WORTHLESS AND TREASONOUS PEOPLE. YEAH,IT IS THE BEST CONGRESS MONEY CAN BUY!!! SHAME ON YOU. ********** [084327:020610] S.N., Philadelphia, PA The one thing we need to emulate from the republicans is their ability to stick to their principles no matter what. It's time for the Democrats to develop a backbone and support our president and the policies that we voted him in to implement! ********** [052627:020610] r.m., Phoenix, AZ if you do not pass single payer health care plan you are going to give the elections back to the republicans. I just wish LBJ was still in charge he would have gotten it done. ********** [012607:020310] D.B., Haiku, HI Something needs to be done to control the costs of medical care. Medicare for all or having the OPTION of having "medicare" would be a good way to accomplish this goal. ********** [180631:020210] V.S., New Springfield, OH I can see from the last few days that President Obama has got the message. What about the rest fo you? Are you going to keep letting the GOP run over you like a rug??? ********** [125858:020110] a.u., Jersey City, NJ It is a shame how our politicins are deceiving people. They should be ashamed of themselves because they are betraying their own people. ********** [204346:013110] C.L., Olema, CA I fully support Medicare For All. I strongly encourage you to do everything you can to champion and pass Senator Sanders' American Health Security Act of 2009 (S. 703/S.A. 2837) or Representative Conyers' Expanded and Improved Medicare for All Act (HR 676). At a minimum, health care reform should include an aggressive public option--reform that will give all Americans an affordable alternative to private insurance if they want one, not "reform" that will result in more and more money being given to for-profit private insurance companies. While a "public option" is far inferior to Medicare For All, it will at least help increase the availability of health care to more Americans. Medicare For All will result in a far superior health care system than any version of a "public option" could ever provide. Medicare For All is the most effective reform to assure universal coverage, choice of doctor, and real cost controls that will end the financial and healthcare insecurity faced by American families and American businesses. The majority of physicians in the United States are in favor of national health insurance system. A recent study published in 2008 in Annals of Internal Medicine, a leading medical journal, showed 59% of physicians "support government legislation to estabL.national health insurance," while 32% oppose it and 9% are neutral. This represented an increase of 10 percentage points as compared with a similar survey in 2002 in which support for such legislation stood at 49% of physicians. Among the general U.S. public, recent polling ratings for single-payer are apparently dependent on wording, ranging from 49% to 65% in favor. Please support Medicare For All--a single payer, national health insurance plan that includes all Americans and leaves nobody out. No other issue so directly impacts Americans. It's time to guarantee every American healthcare they need, through a single-payer system, as in an improved and expanded Medicare for All. ********** [133528:013110] M.B., Gloucester, MA We need Medicare For All, real reduction in drug prices, real negotiation power in relation to insurance companies to reduce costs and eliminate abusive practices like preconditions and lifetime caps on coverage. Please do not betray our hope and trust acting like a corporate lobbyist. ********** [123600:013110] D.K., Cincinnati, OH With the White House, the House and the Senate...we had an opportunity to try to rectify some of the horrific mistakes of the last 8 years....but as a lifelong Democrat I am very, very fed up with this wimpy farce I've seen so far. Your so-called health bill is a joke and we all recognize the same old game. Make backroom deals with the insurace companies, the drug companies, special interests and most of all the so called Blue Dog democrats who cut sleazy deals that were in their best interest. Not to mention the special treatment for the banks and Wall Street and all that we are not being told about the deals still going on there. Why should we be informed about the shadow banks - we are only paying for them. I feel all of you are traitors. Get a backbone. quit trying to appease the Republicans..they are not going to work with you. Why should they? They get exactly what they want by refusing everything ... and they play the game of dirty politics much better than you do. Instead of catering to the far right, why not try to do what you won on...honesty, transparency, and putting the American people first (instead of your own re-elections). The Democrats have broken my heart for the last time. I was still hopeful that we could at last live up the promise of our Constitution. I'm switching to Independent and will use my vote before I lose it - thanks to the Supreme Court. ********** [113249:013110] R.S., Mastic, NY You guys had majorities in both houses, and the White House, If there was ever a time to push our agenda through, this was it. But, you blew it. I don't have much use for politicians, and I don't belong to either party, but I've always looked to the Democrats for a fair shake. What are you people thinking? Lower the age for MediCare, let the Republicans fillabuster, and stick to your guns! ********** [042302:013110] G.C., Dayton, OH I would like to see health care reform consisting of Single Payer! Single Payer is the Only plan that makes sense! ********** [121639:013010] D.S., Manchester, NH As a Union member, I spent weeks knocking on doors, writing letters, and making phone calls urging NH voters to cast their ballot for "change". And they did. What a terrible disappointment to have the majority we voted in waste it away. I envy the leadership skills the Republican party has, and even though I disagree with nearly all their policies they always manage to get their bills passed. What have the Dem's accomplished? They need to start taking their lessons from the likes of Carl Rove, walk in lockstep, ignore what the other party wants, and get things done. Or this year I won't be knocking on any doors. ********** [030931:012910] K.B., Norman, OK I don't expect much from my own right-wing Congress people, because they are all as red as apples, but I did have some modicum of hope from the last election, which has been quickly dashed by the RED-DOG DEMOCRATS and our own supposedly progressive president. The current Senate health bill is a joke and it makes me wonder? Just how stupid do they think we are?? We need a single-payer system - its the only way. ********** [072153:012810] k.s., Pompano Beach, FL If your not LISTENING you'll all be replaced SOON! ********** [163950:012710] g.g., Bristolville, OH your days in office may be numbered. you can be voted out ********** [150527:012710] C.A., Eureka, CA The American people need your help not your mandate. You are supposed to represent the American people not the health care CEO's. ********** [135550:012710] E.S., Bronx, NY Edna Spears ********** [123648:012710] R.W., Chicago, IL If you talk the talk - - then walk the walk and stop trying to appease the damn GOP! ********** [110411:012710] R.U., Lowville, NY Your time IS RUNNING OUT to do the right things, which you have NOT considered doing in the last twenty+ years YOUR "JOBS", and I use the term extremely lightly, ARE ABOUT TO BE GONE like you made sure of for the PEOPLE OF THIS NATION THAT YOU CONTINUALLY MISREPRESENT!!!!!!!!! ********** [210723:012610] a.p., Cedar Rapids, IA Either do as promised to the America's people or get voted-out come election time! We've had enough of this crap !!! ********** [150938:012610] L.H., Ogdensburg, NY The Senate blew it. The Executive blew it. Listen to the people and act! The people are not far from the wielding of pitchforks! ********** [133808:012610] S.C., Sisters, OR Shame on you! How can you dare call yourselves representatives of the people, those of you who bend over backwards to the pharmaseutical and medical insurance corporations. Watch America, as the two party systems kicks itself in the butay. ********** Go Back |
