At a minimum, health care reform should include an aggressive public option--reform that will give all Americans an affordable alternative to private insurance if they want one, not "reform" that will result in more and more money being given to for-profit private insurance companies. While a "public option" is far inferior to Medicare For All, it will at least help increase the availability of health care to more Americans. Medicare For All will result in a far superior health care system than either the House or the Senate "Health Insurance Reform" bills could ever provide. Medicare For All is the most effective reform to assure universal coverage, choice of doctor, and real cost controls that will end the financial and healthcare insecurity faced by American families and American businesses.
