Stop Keystone XL South Construction Now

Let's take the long view rather than the short view. The tar sands are nasty and energy intensive operations, both in Canada and the US. And the water used for the production of the tar sands .... I cannot believe that Canada is willing to destroy that region of Alberta but they take the short view also. If they wish to turn Alberta into another West Virginia ... The long view is to SUPPORT other forms of energy besides fossil fuels and surely other than dirty energy intensive, water depleting fossil fuels such as the Alberta tar sands.

Don't give in to corporate interests!

Keystone will caused more environmental damage. We can easily buy oil from the Middle East where extracting and shipping it doesn't cause environmental hazards.

This pipeline must be stopped. Just the mere extraction of these oil sands presents a great pollution potential. The possible breach or leak of this pipeline would devastate land in the heartland of America. If job creation is a valid concern, greater employment would be possible in the pursuit of renewables.

Save civilization on Earth, no Keystone XL!

The Keystone XL Pipeline, fracking for gas and other fossil fuelish forms of energy are not acceptable. Has anyone noticed the vast areas of storms flooding over a dozen states, how about the unprecedented droughts and wildfires? These are all results of our continued use of fossil fuels. Congress cannot serve two masters - the polluting corporations or we, the people, of the United States (and the planet).

WE NEED MORE SOLAR POWER PROJECTS !!!!!

The oil from the Keystone Pipeline is harder to clean up because it sinks to the bottom of a river. It destroys the environment when it is taken from Canada and it also can destroy the environment if there is a leak in the pipeline. We need to save our earth from climate change and the Keystone Pipeline is the worst form of carbon pollution.

The energy that it takes to extract tar sands crude is nearly equal to the usable energy it produces. This is wrong and inefficient. This is wanton distruction of natural resources. And where are our beautiful boreal forests now? Gone!

Keystone is a step in the direction towards global destruction!

Clearly this pipeline is not in the best interests of the United States or the planet. It is becoming clearer and clearer that global climate change is destroying the world as we know it. More oil is not the answer. Stand up NOW to show true leadership.

I am writing to urge an immediate moratorium on construction of the Keystone XL southern leg. Continuation of that construction project contradicts President Obama's recent speech in which he announced that a decision has not been reached on approval of the Keystone XL pipeline that would cross the U.S. from Canada to the Gulf Coast.

Canada's govt. has done a study that tells them: US gas prices will rise as Canadian tar sands are shipped internationally. And if US does the refining, we are increasing our carbon footprint and letting Canada off the hook for it.

I absolutely do not want the Keystone pipeline. If it goes down through the center of the country, it will destroy our water supply and our land. We do not
owe Canada anything. The oil is not for us, but for
selling to other countries. Canaday cannot even prevent spills in Canada or the U.S. No one knows
how to clean the mess up. For what? So a few persons in Canada can make a fortune while destroying our land and water. NO

The XL pipeline risks damaging our water supplies, is high carbon fuel, shipped elsewhere and contributes to postponing our developing better energy sources.

What in the world can possibly be less unsafe than a pipeline traversing the USA from North to South. Ever heard of an Earthquake - or Tornados - in the Mid-west? Hurricans in the Gulf. HELLOOOOOO!

Please stop the Keystone XL Pipeline South construction. It is damaging the local environment and is not something that is needed. Your efforts to stop the progression of the building of this pipeline will show that you truly support not damaging our environment.

The Chinese have an old adage: "When words and actions disagree, believe actions." Continued construction of Keystone XL (South) is telling me that XL is a done deal, contrary to Mr. Obama's words. Stop doing the dance and stop Keystone XL. Neither action is becoming of a Presidentwho is supposed to be representing his countrymen, not coporate interests.

The XL pipeline will be the single most harmful thing toward climate change. The dirtiest oil for overseas consumption for many years to come.
The best thing for the planet is to stop it. Do the right thing and stop the pipeline!

We must stop putting our environment at risk for the dregs of oil production. We must switch to green energy. Stand firm and support our home.

We Americans need to "get over" our addiction to oil, pare down our extraction of non-renewable energy resources, and develop more responsible methods of making our society function.
