Sens. Murray and Cantwell, thank you for being a co-sponsor and for fighting to restore our democracy. Rep. Larsen, please show similar leadership and become a co-sponsor. This is the most important issue facing our country today.

Regulation of campaign financing is the only way that American can stay America. Please reverse the Supreme Court decision.

The rights enshrined in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution are the rights of living, breathing human beings. The Founders would be astonished to find that these rights have been given by the Supreme Court to corporations and other such paper entities. I urge you to support SJ Res 19 and HJ Res 20 so that we can begin to rectify this situation.

Nita,
I was very surprised to find that you are not a cosponsor of this important legislation. I was very pleased when redistricting moved you in to my neck of the woods. I expect a lot from someone I've been supporting for over 20 years. Get on the right side of this.

One man, one vote. Companies don't get vote, they are not "men". They are composed of men, who have their votes.
Make sense? Good. Money doesn't talk or vote, it swears.

Money is not speech. Our elections should not go to the highest bidder. Contrary to the erroneous opinion of some of our Supreme Court justices, the founders would roll over in their graves at this travesty.

Dear sirs:
We need democracy. Money is not speech and corporations are not persons/ citizens. Indeed for an effective democracy to exist every citizen should have equal voice in the system. Every one should have accurate and full information available and every citizen should be encouraged and given equal opportunity to vote. Only such a democracy can provide the legitimacy needed for enlightened leadership and the wisdom of people to empower the far reaching change our civilization needs to overcome the damage caused by decades of stealth libertarian top down economic disaster and an environment ravaged by the rear view mirror policies of a tiny oligarchic elite driven by a
vision of reductionist utopia to endless deregulation and privatization of what must and will be the common wealth, the public good.

Corporations are legal structures to do business, and with the recent rulings they are doing the business of buying support. They have too much power to move political policy, which undermines the foundations of democracy and the will of the people---individual citizens. Please initiate reforms and strike down these rulings.

The Constitution is being undermined by activist judges, who have changed the meaning and interpretation of the Constitution it self. They have ignored decades, of president, to reinterpret the words "people" and "speech" to mean something they were never meant to mean.
Currently not enough congressional representatives, seem to be willing to call this treason, and impeach these charlatans, but the sooner we can move in this direction the better. The Constitution was set up with 3 branches designed to keep each other in check. The Judicial branch is currently out of control.

I don't believe that corporations should be considered people.

Corporations are not people. They are artificial constructs. Money is not speech, it is a way to purchase power. A democracy depends upon its people not its businesses. We need to take back our country.

Money is not speech. If we are to have anything resembling a democracy, private electoral campaign spending should be replaced by a system of public financing. Otherwise the special interests will find ways round the rules as they have just been doing. The root of the problem is too much wealth concentrated in too few hands.

An oligarchy does not even resemble a representative democracy, money is NOT speech, unrestricted money decimates equal representation.

This pretension that money equals free speech is making grown men look stupid. Fix it or the public will just see politicians are for sale to the highest bidder. Then the public not only loses faith in government, they get down right mean angry, like violent rebellion is the only answer. At that time the people will tell you that bullets equal free speech. See how crazy breeds crazy? Well what about we just do that campaign finance reform now before it gets all silly what with free speech flying everywhere and all that duckin' and weavin' and stuff. Money as free speech, what a hoot! The rich say the darndest things to their workers ...

Political office should not be for sale. The outsized political contributions of some should not be allowed to unduly influence the outcome of elections.

There can be no more important and necessary concern for anyone wanting democracy of any kind to continue in the United States than stopping corporations and the super-rich from choosing h we vote for and who wins. It's a no-brainer: MONEY IS NOT SPEACH, any child would know that. Now is the time to take a moral stand against greed and for democracy and EVERYONE HAS A VOICE.

We have a corrupt Supreme Court who takes orders from big money who they are wined and dined by. Several of them should be impeached, not making decisions for our country or handing it over to plutocrats.

Senators Schumer and Gillibrand, you have made me a happy constituent by having signed on as supporters of this important piece of legislation. Perhaps you could also convince my Representive, Hakeem Jeffries, to do the same for the House's counterpart bill.
