Your are among those who is guilty of raiding and spending too much money. It is all a sick and worrisome joke. ********** [212821:051015] R.W., Corvallis, OR We need a level playing field when it comes to elections Every candidate would have the same amount from taxpayers and not from anyone else. All would get equal air time. Stop the special interests from running and ruining our country! ********** [231558:042115] T.P., Glendale, CA Contractors have bought Congress and the Federal Government. Divulging the buyers might slow down this corruption ********** [133241:042015] A.D., Portland, OR Please, please, act on this issue we need to take back Democracy. ********** [072713:041415] T.E., Brush Prairie, WA Ultimately, Citizens United must be overturned, but until that time, we must work diligently to ensure we take EVERY opportunity to undo the damage being done by this rogue decision. ********** [163851:041015] S.E., North Hollywood, CA We really cannot call our country a democracy as long as the "rich" are creating our laws to suit them. ********** [093139:040815] S.B., Welch, MN The public has a right to know who is getting Federal contracts and who they support. Thank you. ********** [183535:040715] T.D., Santa Cruz, CA What our country and our democratic way of life needs crucially at this time in our history is true transparency. Allowing corporations of any size, but especially extremely large corporations to make campaign contributions to the very elected officials who help to award them government contracts should never be allowed. If it is to be allowed, at least the people of this country whose tax monies pay for these contracts should be allowed the chance to see that the contracts are often "bought" with continuing campaign contributions. You are in the unique position that can put a stop to this hidden political campaign support. Please, make Federal contractors disclose their political spending. ********** [073546:040715] T.M., Los Angeles, CA Thank you ********** [181932:040615] M.K., Hartsdale, NY I want to see Citizens United overturned. This will be a start. ********** [131706:040615] A.L., Columbia, MO This is ONE excellent and much-needed step towards ending the insanity that is currently our country's norm with dark money. Please DO IT! Thank you! ********** [140030:040415] G.H., Pinehill, NM Mr. President, transparency is the key to our democratic system- without it we are unable to make informed choices as US citizens, and so are eliminated from the democratic process. I can only imagine the pressure you are under to support corporate interests in this matter, but please consider making the courageous choice to champion transparency- it will not only support the democratic process, but may help to encourage corporations to be more self-regulating concerning their political actions in our election process. Sincerely, Genevieve Humenay ********** [155302:040315] R.C., Florence, AZ Be transparent ********** [114903:040115] e.m., Los Angeles, CA All money and gifts to political candidates and parties must be shown to voters before elections not later. We deserve to be informed voters. Change the current system NOW. ********** [203052:033115] v.h., Berkeley, CA All contractors and companies of every kind that receive any money from the government must be required to reveal ALL their political expenditures. it's insane enough that govenrment contractors are allowed to put money into politics at all, which surely serves to buy the poiticians who give them their contracts, but the very least we must do is to require transparency about who is buying our politicians for their corporate profits. ********** [203044:033115] v.h., Berkeley, CA All contractors and companies of every kind that receive any money from the government must be required to reveal ALL their political expenditures. it's insane enough that govenrment contractors are allowed to put money into politics at all, which surely serves to buy the poiticians who give them their contracts, but the very least we must do is to require transparency about who is buying our politicians for their corporate profits. ********** [183931:033115] s.p., Ithaca, NY I beg you to take corruption out of politics so we can have a true democracy. ********** [144921:033115] L.R., Columbus, OH Contractors are not representatives. They should not be permitted to influence elections under any sort of secrecy...So... Please breach their secrecy. Thanks!!! Yours very truly, Louise Esther Rothstein. ********** [115244:033115] C.S., Daytona Beach, FL As I have learned over the past few years, there are American corporations which pay no federal income tax at all. Some of them are our most important ones in critical industries, but they make billions. The moment I learned this, I wanted it to stop. Now working people are telling you that it must stop right NOW! Please listen to us, Mr. President. It is urgent in our democracy! ********** [110645:033115] J.M., Raleigh, NC It's difficult to understand how anyone can find that corporations should be treated as individual persons. It seems absurd and ridiculous in the extreme that the Supreme Court can find such an interpretation anywhere in our Constitution. Until such time as a clear amendment can be made to counter this travesty against our freedoms as individual citizens, please do what is your power to force corporations into full disclosure of all political contributions. ********** [090753:033115] J.P., Washington, DC Let us remember that Federal Contractors are also in the medical community. Medicare and Medicaid are huge federal governmental programs funded by tax money. Medical Providers take money from numerous federal programs through block grants, research grants, service grants and through direct billing under Medicaid and Medicare. Medical Fraud in this country is a greater problem now than fraud in the defense industries. These organizations, businesses, and corporations which do medical fraud seek to hide their criminal acts and also procure governmental contracts. So we need to make sure these federal contractors are disclosing their political spending so we know which governmental officials they are influencing with their political money. ********** [202126:033015] S.C., San Jose, CA Use your power, Mr. President! ********** [174014:033015] R.M., Flint, MI Buying power is both immoral and unconstitutional. ********** [163752:033015] D.B., Franklin, IN Get the money out of politics and we need term limits for all politicians. ********** [112009:033015] m.g., Chicago, IL This is still a democracy....Yes or No? ********** Go Back |
