This way they can work thru the messy process it takes to get compensated thru the unemployment program, and work thru the services that will help you look for a job before the rest of us have to deal with the red tape. ********** [091957:062215] L.H., Tuscola, TX The American people are starting to see the truth about their congressmen....we know you are not voting in our best interest and we are watching how you vote. ********** [123700:062115] V.F., Wellsboro, PA Absolutely NO On Title II Of H.R.1314! The American people are not stupid. This bill is solely for the financial benefit of big corporations - not the American people. We the People do not want it in any way, shape, or form! ********** [120717:062015] g.s., Woodinville, WA No TPP!!!!!! ********** [092623:062015] S.O., Berkeley, CA The American people deserve better than a duplicitous move by Congress -- trying to undermine or at least circumvent a bill that was legitimately passed. I feel sure that you will do what's right. ********** [002200:062015] C.C., League City, TX Our previous open trade agreements have been a disaster for the American people. The theory that our child labor laws and worker protections will spread to other areas of the world have failed. Instead American jobs are lost as companies move overseas and we must import products we previously produced here in the US. Protect all workers everywhere by voting "no" on Title II of H.R. 1314. ********** [195207:061915] M.M., Albuquerque, NM It is astounding and mind boggling that any democrat or person of conscience would vote for such a monstrosity. There should be no millionaires or billionaires as long as there are so few jobs with a living wage. All with such incomes are morally and ethically obliged to create such jobs and if unable should at least create work. Step back from narcissism and sociopathy. Be a mensch. Grow an emotional and psychologically stable pair to put it somewhat bluntly. ********** [194729:061815] M.N., Columbus, NJ Thank you for voting against TPP Fast Track authority. NAFTA has been a disaster for us and unfortunately more so for our Mexican neighbors. Imagine the results if the TPP "NAFTA on steroids" trade agreement were to be signed without Congressional debate? What I find particularly troubling about TPP is allowing businesses to challenge a sovereign nation's laws which might limit a company's profits. Dumping pollutants into open waters like lakes or the ocean limits profits - would you want such laws preventing water pollution to be revoked? I wouldn't and neither would any sane person, but TPP could allow this to happen. Please, continue to oppose Fast Track authority. And, please, put the needs and interests of ordinary people first when debating the entire TPP. Thank you. Peace, Wisdom, Courage, and Good Health to you and your family. ********** [151844:061815] J.W., Crossville, TN As I said in my recent op-ed piece, we should be closely watching Congressman Dianne Black's vote. On Friday, 6/12, she voted FOR fast track empowerment of the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) on House roll call vote 362. This is a vote for multinational corporations and against Cumberland County workers. More votes will follow. We will be watching. ********** [081150:061815] P.D., Albuquerque, NM Fast tracking important legislation and trade agreements flies in the face of a democracy. Transparency is the only way to achieve an open debate about the things that matter to working Americans. I do not trust rich Senators and Congressmen to have my best interests at heart when they get behind closed doors. Americans want to see this agreement before it gets signed. Absolutely NO On Title II Of H.R.1314. ********** [032006:061815] h.d., Fort Lauderdale, FL Absolutely NO On Title II Of H.R.1314." ********** [201343:061715] M.F., Janesville, WI Absolutely NO On Title II Of H.R.1314! The TPP is a trade deal with very little about trade and much about granting corporations sovereignty over nations. The key instrument regarding the latter is that of Investor-state dispute settlement. We should not be passing a bill of which no single legislator is allowed to know the contents. If you think the people are not seeing this agreement and tactic for what they are, you are sorely mistaken. Protect the people and their rights, not corporations -- you are elected to represent US. ********** Go Back |
