"Change" is very critical these days. ********** [215751:120316] S.T., Ithaca, NY It's time to stop blaming everyone else and make some changes to right this sinking ship. Making Ellison DNC Chair is a good first step. Please remember that we're payng attention now. ********** [202754:120316] B.S., Somerville, MA I'd love to see a progressive Democrat be at the helm of the DNC. ********** [153832:120116] D.B., Salinas, CA We think he would be a great for the DNC Chair position. We need a strong progressive in that position. ********** [145601:112816] H.L., Berkley, MI Dear Editor: I am writing to urge Congressman Keith Ellison's election as Democratic National Committee [DNC] Chairperson. After this past election, we need a new kind of DNC leader. We need someone action-oriented and visible. When did you last see a DNC leader meeting with local Michigan Democratic Party members and supporters? We need an organizer. We need a leader able, ready, and willing to travel the country and speak to people in person, by Skype, and by other personal contact means. We need a leader able, ready, and willing to arouse people and prepare them to fight. Confining contact to only the favored few will not do it. Congressman Keith Ellison can and will be that kind of leader. Therefore, I strongly support his election as DNC Chairperson. Sincerely, Howard Yale Lederman ********** [141314:112816] C.v., Albuquerque, NM This man is a racist - he cannot serve as AG. ********** [094720:112816] S.J., Mount Dora, FL The DNC system has some responsibility for the Trump election and should now correct things by electing Keith Ellison as chair. ********** [191112:112716] d.l., Holyoke, MA Keith Ellison is exactly the kind of progressive we need to lead the DNC. No more hacks like Debbie Wasserman Schultz. ********** [014436:112716] T.D., Friday Harbor, WA keep the issues up front by supporting Keith Ellison for DNC chair! ********** [014952:112616] m.k., Bloomington, IL The neolibs-- esp the Clintonian neoliberals and the Wall Street Chucks-- have gutted the Democratic Party and the nation. Enough is enough! ********** [230633:112316] B.H., Montpelier, VT Off Topic Note to The Pen: When I went to share the Single-Payer action on Facebook, it contained #Trumpthefraud. I think that slogan is detrimental now to any action that could benefit from the Trumpster's support. He seems a sucker for flattery, so if our cause is more important than our pride, we should go for the flattery, imo. ********** [211540:112316] J.S., New York, NY The Democratic Party needs to reorganize. It is unfortunate that a whole segment of the population--working people have become alienated from the party. When the economy crashed, those on Wall Street guilty of malfeasance should have been jailed and main street should have been supported. ********** [204959:112316] G.B., South Elgin, IL Hey DNC, It's time to get your act together! ********** [233526:112216] A.H., Lansing, MI We NEED a real progressive as chair of the DNC NOT another member of the elite, out-of-touch, centerist establishment. We also NEED a through house cleaning from top to bottom of the DNC. ********** [220400:112216] C.K., West Hartford, CT Bernie Sanders' strong endorsement of Keith Ellison is enough for us to stand with him. ********** [143316:112216] R.B., Lafayette, CA I don't know anything about Keith Ellison, but respect the opinion of those who do, so I support him for DNC chair. He'll certainly be better than DWS!!!!! ********** [135039:112216] V.E., Pittsburgh, PA DNC, you lost us the election because you denied the nomination to Bernie. Please do not continue your destructive policies. ********** [115737:112216] J.H., Falmouth, MA 2 things. 1. Get your mailing list to contact the Electoral College. They vote in Dec. 2. If you want a difference then work towards this as a Nationwide policy. LET US CHANGE THE WAY WE VOTE TO MAKE OUR VOTES COUNT. I have been telling people, including my senators and congressmen federal state and local, about Instant Runoff Voting or Ranked Choice Voting ever since I heard about IRV several years ago. If we had IRV/RCV on Nov 8th then Hillary or Bernie (running as an Independent) would have won as they both would have been on the ballot and people could have voted for either of them giving all of those votes to one of them. Maine just voted in RCV. If you want to fix our Democracy then let's fix it. IRV/RCV allows other Party candidates to run and be voted for with out punishing voters for their choices. Just plug IRV or RCV into your search engine or search wikipedia. It doesn't change Democracy. It changes the effectiveness of our vote. Of course if we would get rid of the electoral college stupidity... BUT no one wants to do these practical things to make Democracy more user friendly and bring it into the millennium. I'm pleased to see the call for new leadership for Democrats. I have been voting since 1967. Always Democratic at the Fed level and whoever had the best record on the State and Local level. LET US CHANGE THE WAY WE VOTE TO MAKE OUR VOTES COUNT. ********** [092257:112216] S.D., Pflugerville, TX It is time to implement true democracy. ********** [090737:112216] M.S., Chapel Hill, NC We need new progressive ideas to move ahead... ********** [075711:112216] N.H., Lansing, MI We NEED a real progressive as chair of the DNC NOT another member of the elite, out-of-touch, centerist establishment. We also NEED a through house cleaning from top to bottom of the DNC. ********** [060442:112216] M.A., Albany, CA The Dem's will not win many elections in the future without a complete turnaround in the DNC's leadership and policy priorities. Please seriously reflect on the elections results and analysis of the causes by Mr. Ellison, Robert Reich, Michael Moore, and others. ********** Go Back |
