A mass media that won't even question the inherent flaws in capitalism as if it is better than other well meaning systems that have been abused by selfish men. A media that won't inform us of the vast negative human rights abuses caused by the corporations that have spread their influence from here to the world. President Clinton permitted NAFTA. He can not be forgiven. We aren't told of all its negative effects. Is it ok that so many Republican leaders go back and forth from being corparate leaders? We are a nation of which the majority doesn't even attempt to inform itself. A society rife with ignorance and sickness. Is it hard to believe that our leaders are just plain criminal minds that feel that what's good for them is good enough for all. That the rest will take care of themselves. Coruption everywhere. In our city government. In our school administrations. A leader in influencing Republican thinking, Grover Norquist says he'd be glad to see Government itself shrunk and washed down the bathtub drain. I guess so the "wise" leaders in the private sector could run things through privatization. Is it so hard to believe that an administration that would decieve a nation into war without regard for the deaths of it's own sodiers and the innocents that was sure to occur would be unafraid to put a nation in debt so that privatization would then be able to take care of our problems if it becomes necessary? An administration that shows no regard for law and anyone that won't serve their desires. Now a an attorney general that shows no regard for truth has been handed the abilty to wiretap at will and we are to trust them. The only way to stop this madness is to start enforcing the law in protecting us from this abuse. I see no other rational choice but to impeach as many as possible. Starting with the attorney general is a good start. Why do we trust these leaders at all? Why do we trust any Democrats that by their votes show trust in obvious liars. There's no good Democrat unless he is willing to point out all the flaws in our system. To not do so is to be compicit. We still do many good things. Good things must be all that we do. Or at least no harm. We can find a way but it takes an informed people. America must be informed of the outside world too. This so-called "FISA Modernization" plan will force telecom and internet companies to give U.S. spy agencies access to telephone calls and emails without court review. Even the compromise reported in the press would expose American citizens to warrantless surveillance as targets of the program would only have to designated as "likely" to be out of the country. Additionally, the communications of American citizens will doubtless be subject to this surveillance without probable cause if they make or receive calls from targets designated by the Bush administration. To make matters worse, President Bush wants to put the power to designate surveillance targets in the hands of Attorney General Alberto Gonzales - who is now himself the target of an impeachment effort for lying under oath about the illegal NSA wiretapping program. I'm counting on you to protect the constitution. Don't give Bush the power to wiretap Americans without a warrant or court review. I look forward to your response to my letter.
