when big money controls what we here and see we will be seriously blind sided by controlling interests.

Yeah, I think big media is not good for the public, but congress should be more responsible if we take those actions now, so that the major corporations should be able not to buy those smaller media outlets. I hope it helps. Thank you.

cross-ownership in the media isn't only about preventing monopolies but with controlling the number of news source (reporting the truth) the pubic is listening to.controlled brainwash comes to mind discussing this topic.

Media consolidation hinders free market competition because few small independent media companies can't last long against multinational giants, tends to lower the quality of broadcast and printed entertainment, hinders journalistic integrity by reducing the news community's ability to review their peers and dispute questionable reports, further reduces the quality of broadcast and print news by encouraging news to be trivialized and to become a form of propaganda the corporation (and the current administration) wishes to disseminate, and all this serves only to further weaken our voters' ability to make informed decisions and strengthens the cynicism and distrust toward our government and the corporate world in general. perfect for the Third Reich or Stalin's Russia, but a very bad idea for a democratic republic.

If all transmission agencies are handed over to the control of a few corporations, those corporations will have the power to stifle all voices that do not agree with the beliefs of its Authorities. The same authorities will have the motive for doing so, it will be fear of the loss of audience, no matter how small, that will result from the introduction of various music or controversial topics.

To preserve the diversity of information transmitted through the Internet, radio, and television broadcasting stations, let no single entity control them all.

conglomerate news is no news. when only a handful of corporations own every news outlet, then the only thing we get to hear is what those corporations want us to hear. when this happens we lose our democratic principles, and our country. J. Kackstetter

Stop media consolidation now! We need more voices in our democracy, not fewer. This is a huge issue that our forefathers could not have imagined. Keeping in the spirit of our democracy that they so beautifully crafted, I know that they would have not allowed this unfair practice. Stop this dangerous proposal before the media becomes even more corporate owned and controlled.

If putting all news media under one allegiance prevents them from speaking from any viewpoint but that of the boss, we should not allow the boss to take control of more than two news media. Diversity of opinion allows many different ideas to be expressed, and therefore better informs the public, who are known to change their paradigms at the drop of a datum. All data are to be made known to the people, so that each can make well-informed, and presumably better, decisions.

Please stop the further dumbing-down of Americans. An
educated citizen is a viable one. We can't live under this
corporate monopoly any longer. This MUST STOP !
Thank You,

We are at a crossroads. Either we choose to evolve, or we
suffer the consequences of spoon-fed corporate ''news''.
We must have discourse based on individual thought and
ideas. Homogenized news will not do, otherwise we will become
consumer zombies.
READ, LEARN, EDUCATE, EVOLVE

Listen to the American people. We do not want more consolidation of the media. Since when is the newspaper industry in trouble? Furthermore, since when should the government get involved in the private marketplace?

Competition within the media is essential. In order for a democracy to succeed, opposing viewpoints must be heard. When a handful of companies control all of the major media outlets, opposing voices are silenced. Please stop media consolidation.

Control the media, control the people. If we want a democracy we must allow the voices of all of the people to be heard, not just a small segment

Over 95% of the American public have vilified this action by the FCC Chairman, who appears to think he owes the public nothing but contempt. He consistently tried to short-circuit hearings and then simply ignored a huge majority against it. Not unheard of by this administration and many cowardly jackals in Congress.

For U.S. citizens to get unbiased information there must be unbiased media sources from which to learn the news.

I recommend that bill S.2332 be passed. The media is already too restricted in the United States, and I fear that media consolidation would further trample our 1st Amendment rights. One day we'll have one corporation owning every broadcast and web network, and my fear is that the next generation will have to go underground to hear the truth.

This absurd move by Kevin Martin is unacceptable by me or any FREE people of this country. It should be stopped and I support S.2332. This is a move toward a FASCIST country and I strongly oppose Mr. Martin's actions!

We the people of the US want our freedoms back. What ever happened to the taft hartley bill? If we let big corporations take over all of the freedoms we have become to rely on.

We need to see the truth instead of the white house dominated press. Try reading the bbc the Gardian Christian science monitor. It is like we are living in the stone age as far as a free press.

Martin + 2 have decided to allow big media to take even more control of what information we can receive. Please put a stop to this before it becomes law, as you did with Michael Powell's bid to do the same.

We need to have MORE competition in the media, not less. It is essential to democracy for as many voices to be heard as possible. With media consolidation, the large corporations win. And they can perpetuate whatever their agenda is.

"If you tell a lie long enough, to enough people, it eventually becomes their truth."

Put the halt on the FCC by legislation.

We need local independent media. Without it all we get is the sugar coated two second sound bites that every buddy else sees, leading us to a nation of rats folowing the pied piper.
