Put All Candidates Still Running Back in the Debates

It's time that Big Business learns a little something about the Constitution of this country and the value of the peoples' will. BUSINESS has no business interfering in any elections held in this country. Especially, in a campaign of presidential hopefuls. Dennis Kucinich is a respected liberal representative in Congress. There are many people who like him and wanted to hear more from him about his ideas and opinons. GE had no business canceling Mr. Kucinich's invitation to the Las Vegas debate. In fact, Kucinich claims that he has been kept out of a total of 6 debates during this campaign season.

That's outrageous! Big Business has become a gigantic pain in our collective back sides and I hope that GE and MSNBC and every other organization engaged in censoring candidates for office suffers big time for their arrogance and political intrusiveness.

It is American's choice and each candidate deserves the same airtime.

I am disapointed in the way news has been towards Ron Paul. I happen to have a shared view of AMERICA as he and lots if not most would if we all had a chance to hear his side of the campaign. So far I have been asking people if they had ever heard of Ron Paul and not to my suprise many or should I say most haven't. People I talk to are excited someone running for president shares their veiws as well. SO I PRAY THAT SOMEHOW YOU MAY FIND IN YOUR HEART TO NOT SUPPRESS HIM ANY LONGER. MAKE IF FAIR AND BALANCED AND LET THE PEOPLE DECIDE. THANK YOU FOR READING MY APPEAL TO YOU.

You must put all candidates running back in the debates. You have no right to decide which candidates should or should not be heard. This is nothing more than fascism.

The news media has done an efficient job of siphoniing off our national candidates. I have often strongly disagreed with Lou Dobb's on many matters, but did briefly concur with his presenting the '04 "debates" as "presdential presentations".

Although it is clear that no remaning candidate faces, short of finacial or publicity collapse, threat of poltical disapperance - I am siging this anyway, because the media has no moral right to be premptivly dicatating or influencing voter's decisions for them. The networks need to allow all candidates, or more accurately, at this poit, all full content into the remaining debates.

For nstance, why has the media focused obsessively on UFOs, and obtrusely, on global warming? Say what one will, CW says this - UFOs are a question mark, but global warming is not.

Or, defering to the # of candidates, why were Kucinich, Gravel, to an extent, Dodd and Richardson, and yes, Paul, or any cndidate automatically written off, pubilcity wise, as DOA, just they were not "rock stars"? Well, the rock stars people now have left favor either pernance ( McCain/Romney) or "delayed withdrawal" (Obama/Clinton) in Iraq/Afghanistan. None want the MCA repealed, just ( maybe ) habeas reinstalled. One has never admitted being, forgive my expression - "sucker-punched" on the '02 Iraq war resolution, plus the Iran vote, which was done after 3 years of public and Cingressional disclosal of premeditated delinquecy, corruption, incompetence at the Executive level. All do not favor impeachment or censure of Bush/ Cheney, essentially giving them and perhap their own administrations, should they win, a "free pass". And Obama should explain why, he favors "buying your own health care".

As for the rest- no comment.

Thank you.

The monopoly of most local radio/tv and print by one of three monster-size companies becomes more and more painfully in evidence when they fly in the face of fair play and public expectations by presuming to choose presidential candidates for us, they leave the fringe ones out.
It's bad enough that one heard nothing but "the top three" or "the lower tier candidates" before Iowa caucused. Maybe Kucinich doesn't have a snowballs chance but he's a legitimate candidate and he adds interest to the debates. You have no legal right that I know of allowing you to play favorites with your sacred responsibility for fairness and objectivity.

I am sick and tired of having the corporate media with their fist on the scales during our election process.

It is self fulfilling fix to feature certain candidates over others in your coverage, and then crowd out those cheated of effective visibility in the first place.

If someone is running for President, then their name should appear together in the Debates. I do not appreciate the Media trying to take control over the debates. Part of being a United States Citizen is the priveledge of fairness. The media is NO execption!
Thank you for your consideration.

The media should invite all the presidential candidates to the debates and not succumb to intimidation and coersion from big conglomerades. With Mr. Kuchinich left out of the debates, it showed that the media is dominated by big companies who are afraid to give air time to a person with integrity - such as Representative Kuchinich - who will state the crimes that this administration is commiting against the people of the United States of America. We need fairness and inclusion - not exclusion and partiality.

Although it is too late for my comments to make a difference concerning the candidates who were left out of the debate, I would like to suggest that we do not let this type of thing happen again by developing some kind of rule that forbids the networks from excluding candidates for debates.

Look, I know it's too late now to get Congressman Kuchinich into your debate. I know you were upheld in court. And I know Congressman Kuchinich has dropped out of the Presidential race. But let me say that candidates would fare better in polls if they obtained equitable publicity. People like you did "birth control" on Ralph Nader's campaigns of yesteryear. (There were a lot of dirty tricks used to subvert his attempts at even appearing on certain ballots.)

We need stronger third parties and more well-publicized candidates.

Had you heard? This is a democracy.

Not good, your way of "informing" the public.

I strongly support ALL CANDIDATES have equal opportunity to present their views and intentions to the American public through all modes of information dissemination. DO NOT CHOOSE for the rest of us AMERICANS!

GE is a military industrialist and also controls part of the media. The
pushed the war in Iraq and now censure anyone who is against the
military industrial complex that you represent.
I'm boycotting all GE products and media. So will my friends.

I am apalled that NBC is using public airwaves to decide who should be allowed to debate for office of the President of the United States. Take your hands off the scale of justice and equality.

Dear NBC,
Your attempt to keep Dennis Kucinich out of the Las Vegas Democratic Presidential debate was a clear violation of the intent of your role as a network and your charter to fairly the discriminate information to the American people. That coupled with the fact that Mr. Kucinich is the only candidate adamant about ending the war in Iraq and that your parent company (General Electric) as a defense contractor directly profits from that war, puts you and your decision in a very questionably light. To avoid further tarnishing your reputation as an unbiased provider of information to the masses and ultimately affecting your bottom-line I suggest that you immediately reconsider your policies on candidate inclusion to political events that you have influence over. Otherwise get used to loosing viewers/listeners support and dwindling ratings.

GE/MSNBC should quit meddling in our democracy!!! Excluding from a corporate sponsored debate a presidential candidate still campaigning because a large corporation doesn't like what that candidate says is just not acceptable to the American voter!

We get to vote/caucus from the entire field of candidates, so let's see the entire field represented in the debates!

Why should the press determine who are the candidates worth debating. We are being limited to hearing only from the 3 Democrats. Shame on corporate tv.

General Electric corporate family member NBC has rewritten its criteria for including candidates in debates specifically to exclude the real peace candidate, Dennis Kucinich. Of course GE is a major weapons manufacturer so peace threatens its profits.

Less than 44 hours after NBC sent a congratulatory note and an invitation to Ohio Congressman Dennis Kucinich to participate in the Jan. 15 Democratic Presidential debate in Las Vegas, the network notified the campaign that it was changing it announced criteria, rescinding its invitation, and excluding Kucinich from the debate.

It is a self fulfilling fix to feature certain candidates over others in their coverage, and then crowd out those cheated of effective visibility in the first place. More than ever right now, we need to have an open debate on the issues facing our country and our world, and we can't do that if candidates are arbitrarily excluded from televised debate events.

GE and NBC do not own us. We are angry and we are fed up with your garbage, pimping of war, and being viciously unconstitutional!!

WHAT A DISGRFACE THAT A TV STATION (WHOSE AIR WAVES ARE REALLY OWNED BY THE PUBLIC) CAN DETERMINE WHO AMERICANS CAN LISTED TO IN A PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE...GE CAN HARDLY CARE IF CONSUMERS NO LONGER BUY THEIR PRODUCTS...THEY ARE REALLY A DEFENSE INDUSTRY AND FUNCTION LIKE A K-STREET LOBBYIST
